Whether you want to help "Save the Bees", have always been fascinated by honey bees, or would like to obtain an "Ag Exemption" on your 5-20 acres land using beekeeping as a qualifier, this is the "Going Further with Beekeeping"- Level 202 of our popular three-part "BECOMING A NATURAL BEEKEEPER SERIES" (BNB Series).
Attend all 3 levels (or this one and Level 303 if you already have a Level 101 equivalent experience) and obtain a Natural Beekeeper Certificate from the Bee Mindful Bee School.
Space is limited, book early, and keep in mind that all 3 Levels in the Series take place one after the other the same day, so if you decide to attend all three (spur-of-the moment walk-ins welcome at all levels), you may even obtain your Natural Beekeeper Certification the same day!

Pre-requisite: LEVEL 101 OR equivalent intro class/bee school

For those who already know the very basics, this is a 2hr in-depth natural beekeeping class with a practical focus on what a beekeeper needs to do through their first season of beekeeping, from setting up their apiary to installing bees to harvesting honey.
In this class, we will discuss & demonstrate with props the basics for the following concepts, and we will take a stroll through our teaching apiary weather/time permitting:
- setting up your apiary
- attracting and/or installing bees into Hives (swarms, packages, and NUCs)
- why, when, what and how to feed your bees
- why and how to practice Natural, chemical-free Beekeeping
- why, when, how to requeen
- harvesting process

Classes take place at our Teaching Apiary on the beautiful grounds of Vista Brewing, 13551 FM 150, Driftwood, TX 78619

In Bee Mindful's Natural Beekeeping Classes, Natural Beekeeping Experts Les Crowder and Nathalie Biggie will
teach you the basics of beekeeping, as well as cultural and mechanical
ways to troubleshoot colony problems and keep your bees stress-free and
healthy, the natural way. You
will learn common sense beekeeping tricks that are often free and can
help you keep bees without spending money on expensive and confusing
treatments that can contaminate your honey and negatively impact your
queen and your colony.

Bee Mindful, you will learn how to control mites, disease, wax moths
and beetles naturally, so you can keep pesticides out of your hives (including those so-called "organic" treatments, because let's face it, they are after all insecticides, whose role is to be toxic to insects, and bees are .... insects!). We will show you how to grow strong, resilient colonies of happy bees, naturally: register for one of our
BNB Series Classes
(3-part Becoming a Natural Beekeeper Series) or do all three of them to
get your Natural Beekeeper certificate. Other classes and workshops are
also available below, including our popular Top-Bar Hive Making Class
with Les Crowder!

booking one of our classes, take a look at our Teaching Apiary below
for a better understanding of what you will be working with in our
Hands-On programs!

Our multi-purpose teaching apiary features a broad mix of hive styles thriving without the use of any pesticides as treatments,
for a truly unique configuration and breadth of llearning experience in
sustainable beekeeping and modern beekeeping options in Central Texas;
giving our students a better, more educated understanding of the pros
and cons of each option considering your own goals. We believe everyone
has a different goal and beekeeping style, and insist on teaching about
not just Langstroth of Top-Bar Hives as the only options available to
you. Because of this, we have, teach about, and compare side-by side:
